About CBSM
Who We Are
Community Breakthrough Support Mission is a community of people helping to educate and care for 250 orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Kimilili, Kenya. We hope this website helps you to get to know all of us in the Community Breakthrough Support Mission (CBSM). CBSM is run by a group of dedicated people from Kenya and other countries around the world. Our goal is to build a strong network of mutual participation towards the eradication of poverty in the lives of our children and widows. The CBSM is a registered NGO at the Kenyan Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Development (Registration no. 21323).
To offer comprehensive care and support to marginalized members of society and bring about socio-economic independence.
To live in a just society where the less fortunate are facilitated in acquiring protection, care, support and knowledge to better their lives.
We are blessed with the support a hard working group of UN Online Volunteers in developing our projects. We are also part of the Nabuur global community network.
Our OBJECTIVES
Enhance accessibility to health care services for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
Offer alternative homes for the nearly 250 OVCs presently in our care.
Create awareness and understanding of HIV & AIDS among other communicable diseases.
Train guardians on sustainable income.
Enhance access to educational and training services for the OVCs.
Create projects such as clean water, clean fuels, and composting latrines to improve community health.
Help establish women’s co-ops or business initiatives.

CBSM as a Global Community
We live in a global world where Internet technologies make it possible for people from all over the world to engage in helping the CBSM community to achieve their goals of living in safe and prosperous environment. The UN Online Volunteers are such a group of mighty helpers. We are also part of the Nabuur global community network. This is an online volunteering platform that links Neighbours (online volunteers) with Villages (local communities) in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
